Cons

I strongly advise against pursuing employment with this organization. I have outlined my reasons, and there are also several articles available online that shed light on TSMC Arizona's work culture and related concerns. Resistance to Cultural Adaptation: The company displays a reluctance to embrace American culture and insists on adhering strictly to the "Taiwanese" way of doing things, even when the practices are illegal in the US. Lack of Value for PhDs: Regrettably, TSMC ARIZONA does not prioritize the hiring of individuals with PhD qualifications, disregarding their potential contributions. Disregard for Local Employment: Despite obtaining approval from Arizona's governor and officials for the construction of FAB21, TSMC has failed to fulfill its promise of providing jobs to local Arizona residents. Instead, they have primarily recruited individuals from Taiwan to work at the facility. Additionally, a large number of American contractors were laid off this month to accommodate the arrival of a secret batch of Taiwanese arrivals. Replacement of American Employees: TSMC AZ seems to be actively seeking to replace all American employees by the end of the year, which raises concerns about job security and stability for current and prospective employees. Racist Hiring Practices: Hiring managers exhibit discriminatory behavior, displaying a preference for Taiwanese candidates, thereby creating an unwelcoming environment for individuals from other backgrounds. Disparaging Memos from Higher Management: Disturbingly, there have been instances where memos from higher-level management have surfaced, containing derogatory remarks about American employees. American employees are constantly seen as sub par. Cultural Clash: The clash between the Taiwanese "assignees" and local Arizona residents has created a significant cultural divide within the company. The Taiwanese employees are unwilling to work with the American employees, and have been found to speak negatively about their American colleagues. Hazardous Working Conditions: The working conditions at TSMC AZ pose serious risks to employees' safety and well-being. Numerous incidents such as fires, gas leaks, false reports of an active shooter, malfunctioning elevators, and inadequate ventilation in areas with fresh paint have been reported. Corroborating Reviews: The validity of previous reviews that raise concerns about the company's practices and culture is undeniable. Biased Hiring Practices: Hiring managers exhibit bias against American candidates for trivial reasons, all to give the preference to Taiwanese nationals or descendants. Inequitable Comparison of American Employees: Americans are consistently subjected to unfair comparisons with "assignees" in terms of their work hours and other key performance indicators. It is inappropriate to expect American employees to adhere to a workweek resembling that of indentured laborers, working 50-60 hours. Fear-Based Silence from Senior American Leadership: Senior American leaders within the company are apprehensive about voicing concerns due to potential job repercussions from executives based in Taiwan. Removal of Remote Work Option: Unfortunately, due to the decisions made by the Arizona Vice President and the new CEO, employees are no longer permitted to have a flexible working schedule. Challenging Leadership: FAB Director YH is known for frequently changing processes and displaying inconsistent behavior, leading to confusion and frustration among employees. Poor Treatment by executives: Employees report mistreatment and condescending behavior from both executives in fab 21, who exhibit a lack of respect and belittle American employees. Please take all of these points into careful consideration before making any decisions regarding employment with this company.
