Pros
Good pay and benefits in relation to the skill level required to perform the job. You still get full time benefits even as a part time employee
Cons
Stressful job at times, having to deal with the traveling public which is to be expected. Some of the policies we have to enforce go against common sense, and some of the tech used is poor which puts us often times in difficult situation with angry passengers Lots of lazy coworkers, people with bad attitudes, and people who know how to game the system in their way. Makes it diffult if you are actually a good and competent employee when you realize there is little incentive. Many people in leadership roles from lead up to afsd don't really have the competence or maturity to be given the level of responsibility that they are given, but TSA has a culture of cronyism on top of an issue with retaining the actual people who would make good leaders and some good officers who do stay don't want to deal with the extra headache and are more comfortable with being a TSO.
