Pros
Great benefits. Working inside not in the heat. No mandatory overtime. The pay is finally good! from 2002-2023 the pay was terrible, as in the least paid government agency. however now it is equal to other government agencies.
Cons
Phoenix is the worst airport (for TSA) in the nation. This comes from numerous different people (and positions) that have worked at other airports. The leadership is terrible, without going into any detail for fear of reprisal. There is no work-life balance, only the mission and the operation. It does not matter if you are in college and have an exam and need half a day off, they wont approve it. I've seen people work in the mornings of their wedding day because leadership wouldn't let them take the day off. Morale is at an all time low for this airport.
