Pros
- Recently updated pay to reflect the importance of the positions. - Overall great job (despite public opinion!) if you have versatile communications skills.
Cons
- Shifts are up for bid yearly (could be different depending on location) - No guaranteed holidays, was almost not allowed to attend my own wedding due to staffing. - Depending on location. . . Terrible attitudes from employees, supervisors, and managers alike. - TSA isn't a springboard into other federal positions, at least not as easily as you'd think. Internal promotions are great if you're either at a large airport or if you have the ability to relocate, but for small (Cat3/4) it is much harder to move up.
