Pros

Fantastic organization in the sense that it's a great cause, high visibility work with high stakes, once in a lifetime opportunity to have a lasting impact in SW Ontario through your work.

Cons

Lots of egos and bureaucracy to deal with, not great performance management systems in place. Not enough staff so it was exhausting, with long hours, and people on the verge of burn out...even more so than in most Games environments.

Pros

1. The Games were an unprecedented opportunity to be a part of something unique for Toronto and the surrounding Greater Toronto Area. It presented a lot of unique challenges. 2. The main office at Cherry Beach was very nice, clean and presentable. Had easy access via public transit or cycling. Some traffic difficulty if you commuted via car. 3. The office culture was overall friendly, welcoming, social and very hardworking. 4. There was ample opportunity to learn and network with various industry professionals.

Cons

1. Very long hours / relocation were common as Games Time neared. This is very common with the Games industry. 2. Since the Games are temporary in nature, there is limited opportunity to progress or find long-term career stability.

Pros

My direct managers were a pleasure to work with. My co-workers and I all shared a great, positive attitude throughout the job period. Was generally a laid-back job for most of the time.

Cons

There was lots of stress and confusion during games time. The 10-hour shifts during the games-time 24-hour schedule was difficult and the catering was less than satisfactory.
