Pros

Pays well for the area

Cons

Weak engineering culture where the loudest voice always wins. Leadership ignores and belittles concerns of engineers. Lack of alignment throughout the entire organization. Too much mid-level management pushing their own agenda while failing to actually impact the organization. Low probability of actually changing the industry and delivering a product, but burns a ton of Daimler's money every year and somehow justifies continuing to grow their headcount. Filled with opinionated junior engineers in their first job who have never delivered a product.

Pros

Working at Torc has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. The technology we're building is genuinely world-changing — autonomous trucking has the potential to transform how goods move across the country, and being part of that mission makes the work feel meaningful every single day. The pace is fast, which keeps things engaging. There's always something new to tackle, and the environment pushes you to grow quickly. If you thrive on momentum and like seeing your contributions matter, you'll feel right at home here. One thing that stands out is the flexibility around work hours. It's clear that leadership trusts employees to get the job done without micromanaging when or how you do it. That kind of autonomy makes a real difference for work-life balance.

Cons

The fast pace isn't for everyone — be ready to hit the ground running
