- Decent salary and always paid on time
- Followed all of the terms of the contract
- Typically there was plenty of time to lesson plan and prepare for classes.
- The dress code wasn’t strict at all and teachers could dress casually.
- There were so many wonderful students that I enjoyed seeing every day.
Cons
- It felt like there was a large divide between the Korean and foreign teachers. In many cases Korean teachers would talk to the manager about any issues in their classes instead of communicating with their foreign co-teacher. This lead to a culture of mistrust between the Korean and foreign teachers.
- Foreign teachers also weren’t listened to enough and sometimes became scapegoats if things went wrong.
- The school constantly kept children that should have been expelled for their really bad behavior.
- Working there was fine as long as you weren’t a target, but it could really suck if you became one.
