Pros
1. Pay is alright, if you're willing to accept the downsides. 2. Benefits are pretty good, if you have time to make use of them. You get RM500 if you make it to the 1 year mark. (Hmmmmm...) 3. Office environment is quite good, if you have time to notice and enjoy it. 4. Flexible working hours. Can start and end almost anytime you like (of course, this also means you can be asked to standby at anytime for major events, give and take lol). Can pretty much choose to WFH most of the time if you're in tech. 5. The occasional fun company events, if you have time to participate. 6. Career opportunities are plenty, if you're willing to sell your soul to the company. 7. Free linkedin learning subscription, incase you are bored and want to learn soft skills.
Cons
1. Do you have hobbies and a self-image of yourself outside of work? Well you can kiss that goodbye once you join this company. Work will be on your mind 24/7. You will not be given chance to breathe and must standby your Dingtalk chat at all times because your boss will call you anytime. NGL, anxiety and depression is common among staff. Instead of stopping the buck in its tracks, managers will perpetuate the problems by ALSO working on their off-days / sick days. 2. You're gonna have a hard time here if you don't speak or read chinese, it's not a racist thing, just that reality of working here means you need to communicate with China devs often and most of their English is like that Youtube video titled "Watch Huawei reveal P40, P40 Pro and P40 Plus smartphones", please go and watch. Also, our CTO A*** K****r resigned within 9 months of working here and handed back power to China's G***n Z**o, what does that tell you? 3. Company keeps hiring top-heavy. More and more managerial level with high salary but can't/won't help to do work. Not enough working grunts to execute the tasks. Consequence? Please refer to point 1. Those who survive here are either really tech rockstars, or the worst BS-ers you will ever meet. 4. Remember the mental issues mentioned in point 1? Well, HR will try to organize some cute little activities in hopes of alleviating these problems... unfortunately nobody has the time to join, except the BS-ers mentioned in point 3. 5. Interference from parent company Antfin to execute nonsense projects that are doomed to fail. Can't say no because they literally own us. 6. I'd list all the problems with Antfin and Alibaba tech stack, but we're going to be here all day if I do that, plus another review has already covered some, so I won't repeat. But I guess it's not really a con if you don't mind doing things the hard way. 7. Kindly go through the other bad reviews listed on glassdoor as well. Everything mentioned is true, you simply cannot make this up. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO.
