Pros

Because it's a small editorial staff (100ish) with a big legacy name, covering the whole world, junior staff can get incredible opportunities if they do well. Fairly relaxed environment and hours. Everyone is friendly/nice. Very few divas compared to other publications.

Cons

Because it's a small staff, time and resources are limited, makes it hard to spend time on source development and investigative work.

Pros

Generous PTO policy, My mother thinks it's cool that I work for TIME Magazine.

Cons

There's absolutely no room for career growth here. You'll be underpaid, undervalued, and overworked. The company only cares about its senior leadership and c-suite employees. TIME has been losing money for years and it's barely able to keep its head above water. The only thing they've got going for them is a magazine cover in December. And even that doesn't make ends meet. People keep leaving and then the rest of us are expected to take on additional work with none of the pay. If we express that we are overwhelmed or unhappy, the general consensus is "the door is that way." You will likely get fired if you complain or try to speak to your manager about your situation. It's a bad look for a company that only hires friends of friends and people who have worked at Forbes with our CEO, Jess. Nepotism is an ugly beast...
