Pros

Until 2014, TIGI was a great place to work. The employees and management were more like family than work partners. Everyone was open, honest and trusting of each other. Sure there were struggles, but there was also an openness to finding the solutions that it took to make each day a success.

Cons

Since the change in upper management the work-life balance is completely out of whack. I spend more time attached to my phone and cringing at the beep of an email than I do enjoying my personal life. There is constant fear and hesitation in everyone and work has become nothing more than a job. We are constantly being pushed to carry through demands and requests that do not make sense to the business or are unsupported by management once they go into effect. It is left to the people underneath to clean up the mess of their bad decisions and answer to them as to why their original ideas were not effective. It's not a matter of quality anymore but delivering more and more without the tools needed to make those deliverables actually happen.

Pros

I loved being a part of different hairdresser classes and getting free hair product. Most of the people are good there. It's laid-back too. You can wear things there that wouldn't fly in average corporate America. I had fun 85% of the time I worked there.

Cons

The workers were lax about security. I worked at the front desk, and I repeatedly had to remind people not to let strangers in when I was away from my desk. People didn't keep up with their badges, or refused to wear them. My spouse was worried something might happen to me with such lax security. And after 2 years contracting, they wouldn't hire me; even after they claimed I did great work.
