Pros

There is the opportunity to earn good money straight out of university.

Cons

When experiencing problems in your first proper job, it is difficult to know whether these issues are A) the reality of the working world, or B) whether you are in fact being treated awfully. At TH Daniels, it is unfortunately the latter, which becomes very clear when you move companies. The atmosphere in the office is overwhelmingly negative, especially when the company is under target. There is a massive turnover, and therefore targets are hit far less often than they suggest when you interview. The day-to-day structure was school like, with set lunch hours, no flexibility and no trust whatsoever. The three directors are great recruiters and fine to have a beer with but have never experienced a career outside of the McKenzie Stuart Group or Recruitment. They have a very controlling management style. They monitored every little thing you did and are text-book definition micro-managers which when you are in the office for a minimum of 10h every day, became incredibly draining. When people eventually left the company, it was typically not addressed. Management refuses to take any accountability for why people leave and would excuse it as them simply not being able to “handle the pressure”. I think that everyone who has left TH Daniels will agree that it wasn’t pressure that drove them away, rather the huge issues with the culture and with management. The reason for this review is to let any graduates looking at joining TH Daniels know what they are getting themselves in for. I hope that things will change, but do not take the directors’ words for it. Reach out to current staff, ex-employees, and other companies to know all the facts. If you are set on recruitment, know it can be a great career, but don’t let yourself get trapped by the TH Daniels Directors. It is very obvious that the most recent positive reviews here are written by the Directors or they made an employee write it, and it is laughable. To anyone still at TH Daniels and considering leaving, know that it is the best decision you can make.

Pros

Good people Some training Nice office

Cons

Horrible place to work where you were expected to work more than contracted hours. Now in recruitment this is expected some days but the real kicker here was telling me I had to give up my outside interests for the role. Training consisted of classroom style approach with a head of training that after leaving business found out was asked to be the trainer or leave the business as they were not a good recruiter, great to see they are the one training the new grads. The directors do what they want and don't value the employees at all, attitude of do what i say not what i do for the little boys club they run. Pros

Very good place to start straight from University if you’re prepared to work hard and want to make some good money. Good people too, 2 directors are both great guys who you can always have a laugh with but support you when needed as well. I’d ignore some of the poor, salty reviews. If you’e not afraid to roll your sleeves up put some hard work in, you’ve got a great opportunity to earn good money, progress rapidly and have fun. If you’re lazy, don’t bother!

Cons

Can be some long hours but not a problem when doing well
