Pros
Principals are very knowledgeable, helpful and have an open-door policy. Employees are helpful and easy to get along with. Vacation time is flexible. Lunch and learns are breakfast clubs are beneficial.
Cons
No clear training program in place for new employees. Joined company as a Mechanical Engineering intern and was stuck doing electrical engineering lighting drawings for an entire year!! Unacceptable and a huge impedance to mechanical career development. As an intern, I was laid off for 3 weeks around Christmas without any notice. What kind of sustainable company lays off an intern?! Hired on as full-time Mechanical Engineer finally doing Mechanical work. Expected to work 40 billable project hours and eat the ever-increasing overhead time required to deal with management's disorganization. President will not acknowledge you if you do not put in over 50 hours per week. Impossible person to like which makes the work day that much more intolerable. Salary is somewhat competitive but still on the low end within the area. Bonuses are very, very scarce IF anything at all!! Not competitive within the industry whatsoever. Did not receive a bonus for an entire year! Never had a bonus commensurate with time worked - an absolute joke. Many employees lost faith in management and morale is very low. Decent amount of turnover and not uncommon for employees to not show up or walk out. (Looking back I should have done the same) Projects are very monotonous and unfulfilling; primarily National retail stores - do join if you love consumerism! *gag* If you want to pursue an HVAC-related career, do not join this company fresh out of college.
