Pros

None, this place made me miserable

Cons

I honestly don’t know where to start because every bad thing you think can happen at a company, happens at this company. There is backbiting, company gossip, extremely unprofessional and okay favorites and upper management will excuse bad and inappropriate behavior from managers and executives just because they are “friends”. They are a cult. There is no room for growth or promotions as again this company plays favorites, they are also a start up, and have been for far waaaaay too long. But they don’t have the means to promote everyone. It’s best you gain experience and leave. Projects are indecisive and can be regarded as useless on a whim. They don’t know what they’re doing or where they are headed. A joke of a company.

Pros

I've been at many companies in my career and nothing has come even close to how great the culture is at Terray. Everyone is extremely kind, motivated, and brilliant. Everyone is working towards a shared mission and new challenges and requests keep every day engaging and motivating. The company is small and so there is a high likelihood you'll get exposure to leadership and access to opportunities you wouldn't get elsewhere. The leadership team is kind and very technical--they make an effort to really understand the science and teams and individuals at the company. Hard work and excellence are recognized and people are rewarded for the effort they put in, not by the number of years of experience they have on their resume. Benefits are excellent and compensation is competitive to many companies out there both on the tech side and bio/pharma side. There are many other perks to invest in employee happiness like free lunch, stocked snacks and drinks, boba days, holiday parties, team outings, etc.

Cons

It's a smaller company, so it comes with all the usual cons -- inexperienced managers, high workloads, lots of context switching and wearing different hats. It seems no worse than other start ups I've been at and many times it's made much better at Terray knowing everyone is genuinely trying their best.

Pros

Some talented coworkers and interesting projects. The work itself can be engaging depending on the team you are on.

Cons

The culture appears to be heavily influenced by favoritism and internal politics. Opportunities and advancement can feel tied more to relationships with upper management than to performance or contributions. Work–life balance is not strongly supported, and employees often feel pressure to remain available outside normal working hours. Communication from leadership can be inconsistent, and important decisions often lack transparency. There is also a perception that employees who take extended parental leave may struggle to regain the same level of support or opportunities afterward, which can make people hesitant to fully utilize available benefits. Overall, the environment can feel unpredictable, and employees may be surprised by major decisions despite previously receiving positive feedback.
