Pros
I really like working with the people. Teammates are always willing to help out and work towards common goals. Management actually cares about the employees. Benefits are great. Lots of quirky things, for example cash for pet adoption (and benefits for baby adoption too!), sneaker reimbursement if you walk to the office, free national park memberships. All the usual benefits as well, like good health insurance . Pay feels fair and work-life balance is enforced by limiting the work week to 40 hours. I really do feel good about management. They are transparent about how things are going and treat all the employees like people at all times, even when things get tough. They share plans for the future with everyone. Since TCG is a contracting company most projects are contracted for about 5 years - so from time to time people know they need to switch teams. Having a plan and visibility into the internals of the company really adds a lot of stability. As a tech person I also really like the ability to move around between projects over the course of my career. This helps keep my skills fresh. TCG seeks out 'good' projects that have real world benefit. They are a certified B-Corp (Benefit Corporation) which is worth looking up if you are considering employment here.
Cons
Many, but not all, TCG employees are 100% telework and have been for years before Covid. If you are looking for an active in-person social life connected to work you won't find that here. Don't get me wrong, the people are great and friendly, you just aren't going to go out for drinks after hours because you all live in different states.
