Pros
Let me preface by saying that this list could be pretty long but I will wrap it up in a few succinct sentences. As a boss cultivating a safe and stimulating work environment, Elvis excels in making his team and customers feel like a part of a loved community. He granted me this job, having had little experience in the hospitality industry myself, with only the request that I perform to the best of my abilities and treat his business as though it were my own. What ensued was a fast-paced, competitive work environment that pushed me to be creative and innovative. This was my first ‘proper’ job and the skills I have taken away from it are unparallelled.
Cons
I struggle with coming up with any downsides. It is a bar job so naturally you come in contact with some colourful people but that is not exclusive to this bar. The markets as a whole serve as an even larger community, so although the competitiveness between businesses remains prevalent, at the end of the day they are all just trying to survive.
