Pros

Paychecks arrived on time most of the time. Thank you to the generous donors who keep funding this decades long science project! So cool that they keep putting money into it even though the company has never made a profit. Many, many, many investors have looked at this operation and said "No Way" but the very elderly investors at TAE just keep giving for some reason. Also, it was fun to never have to meet a goal or a deadline. You can spend a lot of time achieving... tbd. Best of all: Never even had to prove fusion works! Just keep selling the idea, the false hope, the fantasy.

Cons

Unfortunately, everyone is pretending to be drunk on the kool-aid over at TAE and it's an extremely depressing place to work as a result. They have a junkyard lawyer who threatens people with NDAs to keep their failures hush hush, but what's known is undeniable at this point. TAE has been in "business" for almost 30 years but they have no fusion and no profit to show for it. They had promised proof of concept this year, but that still hasn't happened... and it won't. Don't fall for it, you're better off working for honest people who actually care about your career and what you have to offer.

Pros

Some nice coworkers, after that nothing to speak of really.

Cons

Disengaged, but dictatorial upper and even middle management. As others here have mentioned, zero upward growth unless you have a PhD; OR, you fall in line with other sycophants. Yes, if your skill is using excessive, insincere flattery toward authority figures to gain a personal advantage, special privileges, and career advancement, Tae is the company for you. HR operates like the Stasi. No results unless you consider smoke and mirrors to have value as ultimately, they keep the money coming in. Quite a dispiriting experience in my career, and easily the least rewarding.
