Pros
Because of the global outsourcing deal from Shell IT services to T-Systems, most Shell ex-employees have their benefits with them (and they're good). Salary is not excellent, but competitive enough. Strong branding efforts to promote the company in Malaysia as a Global Delivery Hub.
Cons
Management by escalation, constant fire fighting, weak processes affect overall service delivery quality. Management playing musical chairs, restructuring and changing ideologies all the time. No close communication between Germany and the rest of the world, always a border drawn around Germany processes and tools. Overall, the company is not a true globalized company, and it frustrates its employees. I've seen a freeze to everything from hiring, to training and travel freeze. Management objective is to maintain (or reduce) headcount, but increase quality, which is idealistic because there is no strong structure around the individual (silo) organizations around the world. LOADS of politicking and bureaucracies to go around
