Management is, as you'd probably expect in retail, very much focused on themselves, not much regard for people's lives outside of work, and will change your rotas without notice or asking. You're also likely to get mixed messages from senior staff; someone will say something, but then a completely different thing the next day. If you give them full availability, they will use and abuse you with little appreciation in return.
