Pros

Pays slightly above minimum wage. Shorter shifts available. They take into account what department(s) you'd be better suited to work in.

Cons

- Absolutely insane micromanagement compared to other retail jobs, you can't do anything unless management approves it. To the point where you no longer feel comfortable applying your own common sense, leading to actual mistakes or lack of initiative - Always stuck between a rock and a hard place regarding whether to take your own initiative or risk getting told off for doing so (due to the above) - Very little emphasis put on actual customer service - Expect a lot of flexibility but in return give few hours - Training videos had to be done outside of work hours, this wasn't the case in other retail roles I've worked at, where they allowed for it during work hours - Expect you to wear only black, which in itself isn't an issue, but no subsidising work wear (again unlike other roles which had MASSIVE discounts for work wear) - Can be reprimanded for things you simply did not know - Management feels the need to constantly remind you how "competitive" the role is and essentially scare monger you into feeling as though you're the luckiest person on Earth to have this job - 10% discount is measly (yes I know most of the stuff is already discounted somewhat)
