Pros

There are no Pros of working here

Cons

Just to name a few: 1. Their product team is the worst you will ever come across. They are unsure of what they want to build and yet ask the teams to build it. Once the feature is built it will be discarded because it wasn't what they wanted. 2. They have no funds. They laid off 60+ people and blamed COVID-19 for their situation. The truth is they spent recklessly in expanding teams and hire VPs and SVPs who didn't do anything and eventually were fired. 3. No Growth. Promotions are based on favouritism. There won't be any hikes since they have no funds. 4. You will not add anything to your skill-set working here. The product is in bad shape. You will have to spend most of your time in either cleaning up the dirty code someone has written or write "hacks" to fix it. No learning from any peers. 5. They don't serve lunch at the office anymore in the name of COVID-19 instead admitting that they're cutting costs to keep the company from sinking. Their pantry is a joke. Once upon a time, it used to be filled with options to munch on. Now, it's just 1 or 2 snacks and a coffee machine. 6. Exploit people by underpaying the ones who do good work. 7. If you don't please the founder, you will go nowhere in this company. Being nice to him is the survival kit here.

Hi there and thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. While your review cites some struggles you are experiencing, we are happy you've chosen to remain at the company and hope we can address your issues directly. We know working collaboratively on a product is difficult and want to be sure we are assisting you and your team with any internal issues. We hope you will reach out to the PeopleOps Team at Peopleops.india@synup.com to discuss this. We are invested in developing not only a great product, but also developing our workforce. While we may need your expertise to work on aspects of our product you feel may not challenge you, we ask that you please let us know what you'd like to learn by reaching out to PeopleOps at the email above. In addition to that, we understand that Synup has gone through a difficult time with having to let go of some of our staff. It is really kind that you would offer up the salary of not only yourself, but your co-workers, to have saved the jobs of some of those we had to let go. Unfortunately, the cost of the damage done by the COVID-19 pandemic exceeded that which any other options could resolve. Leadership carefully reviewed this before making the difficult decision to let staff go. Ashwin discussed what led to the reduction in our workforce during the Town Hall in late March. We hope you were able to attend. If you weren't, or you need more clarity around why the decision was made, please reach out to the PeopleOps Team to discuss further. We are here for you. Thank you, again.

Some cross-department communication issues, sometimes it takes awhile for requests to process or tasks to be complete.

Pros

The team is great, the product is straightforward, and there's room for career growth. The company also has solid financials; consistently profitable and not relying on investor funds at this point

Cons

Engineering turnaround is prohibitively slow at times, and product frequently has issues, making the customer relationship more difficult to manage. Company culture could be stronger
