Pros
When I first started at Black Duck a year ago in the Reading office I was given training that was excellent. I am still supported in 1-1s and group settings that support me with knowledge, strategies, and action that help me achieve my targets. Also, I'm now equipped with a skillset that will help me throughout my whole sales/management career going forward. There are a great bunch of leaders at Black Duck who inspire me to grow. They employ a cool varied, multicultural bunch of people which in turn creates a great vibe in the office. They hire young interns to more experienced executives and everyone is open to a conversation and always there to support me. Lou Shipley our CEO is approachable and takes time to get to know us and talk about the business and life in general. A great guy who creates awesome team spirit from the top down. I truly love working with the team, they are a cool bunch. Management is understanding and supportive of my family and makes sure I can achieve a work-life balance which is really important to me as I have a family to look after. We have a free beer, cool team building events organized for us, a pool table, and a stand/sit desks which suits me. AsI I hate sitting down all day as it's bad for my heart. They organize charity/company events where we all get together, including the executives to help out in the community which feels great giving back and helps us bond as a team. There is a genuine spirit of cooperation and shared goals all around helping the customer with a solution that is genuinely needed which I have not found at other corporations. I can ask anyone for help in the organization either in person or via email and they will have an answer. I couldn’t be a part of an organization or solution I didn’t believe in - so I can safely say I can talk about the Black Duck solution as the state of the art because it is. I love my job because everyone shares the same vision and is dedicated to the mission. This truly creates a family environment where everybody is there for each other. People care about me as a person and about my growth both professionally, financially, and personally. If you want to progress within Black Duck you just have to put the work in. That growth mindset is something that I appreciate as I believe in what you put into life - you get back. It's just a really cool place to work.
