Pros

Symbiome has managed to hire some amazing, young, talent. Unfortunately, leadership inhibits that talent from reaching any potential.

Cons

Symbiome is run like a dictatorship- and a poor one at that. The CEO, Vicki, is an evasive and illusive leader. You will not ever know what your job role entails- and it may change on a moment to moment basis without you ever knowing what the expectation for success is. She has no guidelines around branding, and will be sure to rip apart your work if she's in the mood to do-so. She says one thing on a given day, and will surely ream you for doing as you are told the following. She displays erratic behavior targeting and attacking various employees when things go awry. She insisted that everyone come into the office in the midst of the pandemic, when offices in SF were to be shutdown, and did not provide a safe environment. She also insists on all data funneling through Looker, which is setup wrong, so that she can report incorrect metrics to her investors. The company does not have a strategy, nor does it have any clear trajectory or direction. The CEO brought on senior C-suite leadership that are severely underqualified and subsequently inhibit the team's ability to produce revenue. One member of leadership is inappropriate, unprofessional and it was not uncommon to hear him verbally call another employee an "idiot". Another leader is severely unqualified and has not experience in the field that she is running. Last time I checked, a CMO should know how to pull basic data from Google Analytics. Run far-far-far away from Symbiome. The CEO has a history of this type of behavior and the company will not be going anywhere with this leader in place.

Pros

What I love about Symbiome is that we make all of our decisions based off data. It's amazing how much we've been able to automate processes, ensuring that our time is used strategically and efficiently. Employees who thrive are those comfortable taking initiative, finding opportunities, and coming up with solutions. As a scrappy startup, we're able to wear several hats and are given the opportunity to really find our superpowers.

Cons

HR & administrative assistance would be helpful

Pros

Every member of this powerhouse team is wildly curious, data-driven, and creative. I feel inspired every day to learn more (about areas outside my own scope) so I can continue to ask the right questions & implement strategy which bridges all areas of the company. Fast-paced and fun, I love how many projects and initiatives get tackled every day/week; there's always something to implement, iterate on, and create. No matter the ask, task or question, this team is generous with their time. It's wonderful to be surrounded by empathetic leaders and encouraging thought-partners. Personal growth is encouraged by the leadership team/co-founders, who are readily available and compassionate in all communications. As somebody who works with people and community every day, it's important for me to be in a positive environment and company culture. I come into the office more than most.. because the energy is tangible. Truly so rare to be in a space where everyone is valued, no opinion or idea is overlooked, + where there is no shortage of plants, perks, and collaborative discussion. (I've been at the company for nearly a year - but wake up just as excited to learn and grow as day 1. A lot of this work demands intrinsic motivation & those who have it in droves will thrive!)

Cons

Some of the team is remote and so it's harder to really connect. Zoom is great, but not a replacement!
