Pros

Free bagels, bananas, apples and grapes in cafeteria. Incredible leeway and forgiveness for hourly workers performance and behavior.

Cons

This is a highly segregated White European enclave. 100% of upper management was racially biased to White European descent. Middle managers are also mostly white, with very few minorities in supervisory roles. Although it has strict work rules, and upper management constantly requires management (including supervisors which are considered middle management) to enforce them; the truth is that most older supervisors do not do so because if they do, they are eliminated. Since Swagelok has a "No Layoff" policy, this is achieved thru demotion, abuse of the Performance Improvement plan with vague unsubstantiated goals, and wrongful termination. In my 1 1/2 years there, on 3rd shift, 3 out of 4 Site Managers were demoted or made to quit. Multiple supervisors were terminated or demoted to lower positions without following the established procedures. These procedures are valid for hourly workers. I myself was able to get unemployment benefits after my wrongful termination.
