Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

I remember jumping into this role leading into the Christmas holidays. As I was consulting with a big client, I provided transparency during my interviews in regards to finishing a project with this client and then start with this role. I recall I felt the pressure by Head of Finance to start immediately. In hindsight, this was already a major red flag but I ignored it. I shared that I need to finish this project and still have a good relationship with my client. So it was agreed that I can work both knowing the client project was pretty much will be over in a week. So I started and immediately regretted my decision to accept. It was not the type of working, intellectual infrastructure I was used to. Within the first two weeks, I already noticed toxicity from the "leadership team". To be honest, to refer as "leadership" is a bit of a stretch. I looked over their profiles (my fault for not doing it prior to accepting) but most come from backgrounds that are not exemplary, nor have a degree. Half of them barely worked in corporate, robust start up environment and it showed. Processes were made up as they went. There was a high turn - over. Already within the two weeks, 10 people were let go, just "because". Their motto was "hire, fire if you don't like them personally". My one-on-one syncs with Head of Finance & HR was jarring. They both spoke so negatively about employees, speared by the Head of Finance. I was let go after two weeks during our normal one on one, simply because I spoke up and said ''that is not regulatory practice". I was shocked at how abruptly he had done it but frankly, if it wasn't them, it would have been me. What I was mostly disturbed by was this individual's behavior towards women in the workplace. Every negative comment he made about an employee were women. Right before I was let go, I had moved a candidate for a Operations Manager to final stages. This candidate reached out to me and mentioned he got the offer. Two weeks later, he was also let go. He reached out again and mentioned the same thing he experienced from his reporting manager.
