Pros

I was a store manager for Sur La Table and there is absolutely no support from upper management for their managers on the store level. They don't help you when you need it and tell you to figure it out. I was let go by them after a mistake by the HR department that they didn't want to own up to but even so it was the first time I had in their mind made a "mistake" and I was let go and it was not over something drastic. It tells you about job security, they don't care about their people at all and corporate continues to live in a fantasy world instead of reality.

Cons

Employee discount was not bad with 40% off.

- Very fun work - Get to work with professional chefs - You will actually learn more about cooking in this position than you will taking the classes - Employee discounts

Cons

- Low pay with no opportunity for advancement, not a career path - Sometimes kitchen is understaffed, putting a lot of pressure on you
