Pros

Nice shiny new office in Leeds city centre

Cons

SW used to be a great place to work, but when the owner/MD retired a few years ago, the business was sold to an international group of investors (Annuity Management Group). Since then, the business has massively declined. There's plenty of talk about "company values", they've even got them on the wall in pink neon in the new office (yes, really!), but those values are not acted upon, particularly by senior management. You're expected to take on more and more work in the name of "efficiency" (30% less waste is 30% more productivity!!, and don't forget 80/20 and 90/10 whatever they're supposed to mean), with the promise that your hard work will be recognised and rewarded. The only recognition is even more work, a below inflation salary increase (if you get one at all), and maybe a jelly baby at Christmas (if you're lucky enough to get one before they all run out). Several long-term employees have left because they realised they were being taken advantage of. Some of those who didn't leave were made redundant and replaced by people on lower salaries, or their work outsourced to another company. I know of at least one case where someone has been made redundant, and the staff remaining in the business have been misled as to that person's reason for no longer being employed. Staff were told that the person "has left the business" (suggesting that it was the employees choice to leave) rather than admitting that they have made yet another person redundant. Redundancy pay is statutory minimum with no recognition of long service and prior achievements, time and/or money saving accomplishments. Compliments, if given out at all, are hollow and meaningless. I know of two people who were told they were doing an amazing job, even being told by the new CEO "you're a rockstar!", only to be made redundant a few months later. You mean nothing to this company, you're just an expense on a balance sheet as far as they're concerned, and if they can get rid of you, they will. Avoid at all costs.

Pros

Can catch up on sleep with American working hours

Cons

Toxic environment, promotes lies, deception and snitching. Completely unrealistic targets and even worse commission scheme. Managers are completely incompetent and only hired because nobody else would dare apply for the job when they hear their role and salary- company is run by HR. Genuinely avoid this place like the plague

Pros

They sometimes buy fruit for the office is the only pro I can think of.

Cons

Passive aggressive environment. Extremely low salaries even for people who’ve been there for years. Unachievable targets even for people who’ve been there for ten plus years. Non-existent company culture. They do not follow their own company values. The company can’t even follow through with its own unique selling points, customers do not get notified in time of expiry. Favouritism will get you far in the company. Some teams are allowed to work from home sometimes, but not all of them. They’re constantly adding more things to the KPI’s and expect staff not to notice. I would not advise anybody work here. Being unemployed is better than being employed by this company.
