Pros

During my recent transition from a 20+ year career in the military, there were two critical factors that determined my next career choice. This was a unique opportunity for me to 1) choose my next Boss and 2) choose my new Team. Superior Linen Service is a family business with a values-based culture that resonates with my experiences while in uniform. Deliberate transparency and uncompromising integrity starts at the top here and naturally permeates throughout the entire organization. Much like in the military, the leadership at Superior Linen Service understands that people are the company's most valued asset and thus they are committed to employee well-being, and growth and development. I have been with Superior Linen Service for nearly one year now and my experience has been outstanding. It's an exciting time to be part of such a great Team! There is also an excellent matching 401K benefit.

Cons

There is not as much structure or accountability as I expected there would be. To be fair, my expectations are very high given my military background. To leadership's credit, they realize the need to develop more structure and accountability and they are engaged in a very deliberate effort to do so while retaining the best parts of our family-business culture.

Pros

You'll have your own office.

Cons

There will be promises of a 90 day review and a raise, that will not happen. You'll be expected to travel whether it's discussed or not. You will be contacted on your personal phone at all hours of the day even though you're hourly. You'll rarely work within your scheduled hours. You'll unfortunately receive poor training on a complicated network of outdated softwares that do not work well together. You'll have to do your work and the work of other plants very often. You'll be expected to be available to them at all times (even if there is a loss in the family). The benefits will half your pay. Lastly when someone quits, you will have to do their work as well. There are a lot of internal issues with the company and management. If you can work for corporate, you'll have a much better experience.
