Pros

NONE. 0. NOTHING. NADA. NON-EXISTENT

Cons

Oh where do I start! If Chernobyl is a 10 in the range of 1-10 for THE MOST TOXIC places, Supermicro is a 9.9! HORRIBLE work life balance. Be prepared to work 10-11 hours per day WITHOUT overtime pay if you are exempt. HIGH STRESS - Ridiculous and unrealistic expectations. Be prepared to sell your soul and become a robot. They threaten your job in "meet and greet" or in-person meetings so they don't leave a trace. BACKWARD COMPANY - They treat you like kids. You can't cross your hands (against their culture apparently) and so many more petty things they have issues with I can keep on going. They watch every minute of your break and time you. You should take your lunch exactly at the same time everyday even if you are exempt. HEAVY MICRO MANAGEMENT but also your manager wouldn't have time to guide you or onboard you as a new employee! They throw you in the ocean and expect you to stay afloat. RACISM - be prepared for racism and partiality if you're NOT Asian/Chinese. You don't feel inclusive and they target you for silly things and make an issue. I heard this from at least 3 other non-asian colleagues. CHEAP - pay way lower than the market value. Not worth the stress. Apparently this is how Chinese work culture is and I ignored all the warnings. Heard people commit suicide because of work stress in China, now I understand why. I hope companies like these don't infect US work culture. I still want to believe that not all Chinese companies are like this and I loved working with some of the employees but overall this place for sure is TOXIC. Hazard! Stay away!

Pros

I have enjoyed working in the Supermicro IT & DataCenter infrastructure group. It's an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in some of the most impactful trends in the industry, including AI infrastructure, liquid cooling, high-density computing, and next-generation data center design. As an IT Director focused on Applications and data center infrastructure, I have been able to work with talented, dedicated engineers and business leaders to meet complex customer requirements. The company moves quickly, embraces innovation, and provides opportunities to make meaningful contributions rather than getting lost in layers of bureaucracy.

Cons

The pace can be demanding, and priorities sometimes shift as the business continues to grow rapidly. There are times when processes, tools, and organizational structures are still catching up to the company's expansion. Success often requires flexibility, a willingness to take ownership, and the ability to navigate ambiguity. Employees who prefer highly structured environments and clearly defined boundaries may find the pace challenging.
