Pros
I was hired by Sunstates Security in a Management Role. The management within the office is very helpful when they can, and always available to speak to on any matter. A flexible schedule, which is great for helping with my personal matters. The benefits were available to me from Day One; no issues with them.
Cons
ZERO communication and organization with Management. Information is not passed around verbally, through the phone, or email. If it is passed to you, it’s almost too late to respond to or get done on a timely basis. Managers and Employees openly speak about inappropriate topics, including confidential/sensitive information in front of visitors and employees. Employee write-ups and infractions are pushed under the rug unless severe due to the high turnover rate and inadequate staffing for clients. OJT training is almost non-existent and cobbled together; no organization or paperwork for this. Chain of command is not followed correctly and almost non-existent as well. When I was absent for a few weeks, my work was not covered and left in disarray for when I returned. When improvements and better procedures were presented to organize and create accountability for employees, these ideas were shot down for unknown reasons and forgotten. Blame is passed around when issues arise. The Management and Corporate also expects you to be on-call almost 24/7, including on days off. If incidents happen on your time off and you don’t report them to Corporate within 24 hours, you are reprimanded.
