Pros
-The comradery amongst the guys you work with is definitely one of the pros. -The pay is good for entry level. -The amount of benefits that is offered from day one is also pretty good.
Cons
-Spending all day working outside and on top of roofs is hard work (especially on steeper pitches). -Can be super dangerous if you or those around you who are in charge don't know what they're doing. -Lack of communication from managers to foreman (which is only a select few) happens quite often and its very annoying. -Having some programs/benefits taken away due to budget cuts. -Every crew has their "own way" of getting the job done, which is off putting when you try to work and collaborate with others. There's no consistent way of installing and getting the job done. -Having hours cut because of either "Weather conditions", "unsafe work conditions (damaged roof, little to no room to access roof safely, etc.)", or delaying the time the job gets started on because of materials arriving late to job site, which happens quite frequently.
