Pros

Insurance is ok, if you like working nights there's no traffic to deal with on roads.

Cons

management has no idea what they are doing and pass the ball to someone else to deal with, payroll is a joke with either short hrs or days on check/ their check is sometimes put on hold when deposited till it clears or thier own bank will not cash it due to not enough funds...They like to say that your the only one with this problem but yet you hear from other guards talk about the same thing. Several are so upset they're ready to bring state labor board in to investigate. Guards treated like garbage, no holidays off or sick days and if you do call in sick they pull bonus.

Pros

The clients you are sent to work for are very nice and accommodating.

Cons

Summit has got to be one of the most fugazy, poorly run, seedy security companies I have ever worked for. They have a very high turnover of guards. They are constantly advertising for new guards. Upon going to their office to submit an application for employment, I ended up waiting for over two hours to be called in for an interview. Meanwhile the person conducting the interviews was on the phone the entire time, making calls and returning calls. There were two candidates ahead of me who had been waiting two hours and more before I had even arrived. Then after all of that, the individual conducting the interview had the audacity to tell me to my face that he did not have anything for me at that moment. The following week they called me and asked if I wanted to work overnights on the weekends. I had to go back to their office for more paperwork and a drug test. Again, I was there over two hours for what ended up taking less than ten minutes. Then I had to go to the location to meet the client. I lasted there less than two weeks because I found out a guard who was hired after me, and who had less security experience than I did, was given a full-time assignment during the daytime hours. I will never again work for Summit, and I recommend that you do not, neither
