Pros

Working at the Burlington Tower is an opportunity to perfect your craft in maintenance with extremely high expectations. There is health insurance as well. Also you can expect your extremely low paycheck to always be there on time and never bounce because the company has millions upon millions.

Cons

At Summits property The Burlington Tower they are guaranteed to be understaffed at all times. The timelines are extremely short. They want full flips of apartments in 2 days by one person. They have one person doing maintenance in the entire ten story building and they have one person as a porter cleaning the entire ten story building. Lower staff is constantly berated and made fearful. Several employees have left within their first two weeks of work. So expect little pay and an extremely pressured and under appreciated work environment. Also do not expect a day off of work or any vacation days until at least a year of working there. Once you have that year if you want vacation you need to apply for it at least 3 months in advance for any chance at getting it.

Burlington Tower offers competitive compensation with a rich benefit package, including paid holidays, vacation time, sick time, low deductible health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, short-term disability, Aflac, FSA account and 401(k) matching. The compensation is competitive to other local property management firms. As a general guideline, turns are scheduled for a five day turn around, which is within industry standards. This does provide maintenance two days to complete the maintenance portion only for a standard turn and takes into consideration staff schedules, move-in dates, and prioritizing accordingly. Summit’s vacation policy allows employees to use the current available vacation hours for paid time off. Scheduling vacation time is required and it is requested that time off request are submitted at least 30 days in advance or as much notice as possible when less than 30 days to allow for time to make arrangements for coverage for vacation time. Burlington Tower has long term employees in several positions. The entry level positions have experienced a dip in qualified candidates in accordance to the market and lower unemployment rates to fill vacant position in 2016. This has resulted in existing staff working and being paid for additional shift hours during the recruiting process. Staff from other Summit communities have also provided assistance as needed during the recruiting and training time.

Certain individuals get in their own way. They think their attitude is good for the company when dealing with co-workers, but it is really just off-putting.
