Run away from Plant 01 - Quality Engineer Summit Polymers Employee Review

Pros

Good team of younger engineers.

Cons

Older guys in management are dinosaurs of industry and stuck in their ways. The most dangerous words 'its always been done this way' is rampant. All facilities are far below average, worn, and dirty. The company does not even use Outlook but rather Lotus Notes from the '80s. Need to use adobe to edit a PDF? Good luck as its the free version. Excel and word? Versions from over 10 years ago. Keep up with the times or get left behind. For being a proudly-female owned company, Andrea is clearly not in touch with what occurs in the plant. The turnover is atrocious for the office staff (managers and engineers alike) - No mentors, no leadership, no training, incredibly toxic environment.

Pros

The pay is OK. There are some good people employed here. Decent benefits. 401k. Pto Vacation after 1 yr Yearly raises for the first 5 yrs.

Cons

Poor management. No work, home balance, they expect you to live at work. The 401k is forced, you can not decline it. Best believe, this company doesn't care about employees. No communication from the top down. Something will change and you won't be notified til you've done it the previous way and get in trouble. Point system is horrendous, it takes 2 months perfect attendance to get 1 point back. Pto is hard to use. Gets denied often. Even with plenty of notice.
