Pros
There's visible effort the corporation is taking to improve things. I have hope especially as there's enthusiasm among staff who wish for better circumstance. Many of workers take pride in the work.
Cons
This criticism isn't specific to the Summit corporation and quite common between front end and floor workers in corporations of our size, but I expect better, especially with liability and hazards we're exposed to due to the type of industry we're in. There is a distinct lack of communication or simply forced """"corporate mandates"""", to utilize new supplier and equipment to be instantly deployed on the floor without a pilot test, capability study or ensuring resources like utilities are available and capable for the change over. The outcome of the sudden implementation, often observed is incapability with process equipment to the point of destruction or a very apparent drop in quality/yield due unforeseen issues that arise (e.g. calcification of chemical feed lines due new chemistry incapability with local water sources). Effort have been made to report issues from what I can tell by those on the factory floor but it appears to have fallen on deaf ears or simply an unwillingness to correct course and instead impose more responsibility on the worker to adjust for the shortfall of the changes. There also seems to be an unwillingness to accept senior experience assessment when challenges of certain changes are too detrimental to proceed. A most recent situation has severely damaged relations and reputation with long time suppliers and clients (with more to follow; the people in this industry are extremely connected and talk outside of work).
