Pros

You can set your own schedule; the pay is great for a part-time job; extensive training makes you feel very prepared to get started; most of the students and families are very nice and you get to do something to help people; office employees are very helpful and responsive; materials provided are excellent; you don't have to find your own students

Cons

Takes a while to get up and running as the training takes a long time; getting stuck in traffic in Wellesley and not getting paid for that time can be annoying

Pros

The team at Summit is a smart, dedicated group of professionals. They are incredibly supportive and work efficiently. Management is also excellent - they are kind, supportive, and ready to help folks advance.

Cons

Most of the company works remotely, which is helpful for many folks but makes the company culture more business-like.

Pros

They acquired the company I work for, announcing a rapid surge of 'onboarding' meetings in the first three days, as all staff were totally surprised and had no idea what was happening, which is on brand for PE takeovers due to NDAs. The pro here is that they front loaded 3 meetings a day for 3 days to a shocked group of dedicated employees whose company was acquired to try to capture time with them.

Cons

The presenting Summit leadership had zero curiosity, the meeting was 100% information download, zero org health insights - it really lived up to the M and A, private equity takeover experience, even talking about their plan to "drive company growth" while everyone was in shock and there was no rapport. It was a shocking approach has resulted in alienating talented people who are international experts in their field. I still have no idea what they have to offer as an employer - their introduction was so alienating that I am trying to remain open to learn about them, but it is extremely difficult to do so.
