Pros

There is nothing at all positive about working with SWI

Cons

have worked for SWI off and on over the last few years, and my advice is to stay away from this company. My paychecks are frequently short hundreds or even thousands of dollars from unpaid expense reimbursements. I currently have thousands of dollars in backpay owed to me that I am starting to doubt I will ever receive. I did the reasonable thing, I've escalated the issue to bosses and supervisors and so far have no resolution. I'm still missing pay from my FIRST WEEK on the job. There's also the schedule. They want you to work 8-4. Sounds good, except they don't include drive time in that schedule, and they demand at least 7 hours per day in the field. At minimum you will be in your car for 10 hours per day, but the reality is more like 12-14 hours a day. They pay by the day, not the hour, so they have zero incentive to get you back home on time. It's not all bad. Some of the people I work with are very kind, but at the end of the day they're not going to really put much effort in if you have an issue. If you DO get your issue resolved, it's only a matter of time before it happens again. New engineers, stay far away. This is not a job for inexperienced people as this job will eat you alive if you don't know your rights, responsibilities, and common workplace etiquette. You will need all of that knowledge to push back on unreasonable demands and treatment. Update: after filing a complaint with the department of labor about my missing pay, I was let go. I did receive the backpay after a fight, however. Over $5000 had been withheld from my checks. I was promised another contract after mine finished. I was assured that I would be transferred to another area with work so that I could be retained by the company. This never happened. I was let go with zero days notice, despite SWI having help wanted ads posted all over the country. I was told verbatim by a manager that Americans cannot be promoted in this company. It was explained to me that all support and management are located in Pakistan, and that there is no advancement opportunity for Americans at all. Think about this, I've worked for this company for over 2 years and am treated this way. How do you think they will treat YOU as a new employee? RUN.

Pros

You can work long hours & make a lot of money. Personally, my coordinator was very experienced & helpful. I am as well, so we were a great team!

Cons

There will be no work all of a sudden & you won't hear anything from management until they want their equipment back. Then when you file for unemployment, they never reach back out to the state, Then you have to wait months.
