Pros

The site is great in earnings

Cons

It's a one-man show site managed by Mr Jacob. There is no room for offering your Ideas for improvement or even your thoughts. the management will always side with the client when a dispute is raised. the management can close your account anytime, forfeit your earnings no matter the amount the number of cancellations and refunds are limited to 3, you only get one subject per account. You wait for 14 days for a query to be approved, and within that period you live in anxiety the account can be closed if the client raises a dispute. if a client raises a dispute, the money can be put on hold till the client gets the results which can be several months while you aren't sure if the account will be alive or closed. the abrupt closure of the account without the utilisation of warnings and suspensions.

Hi there, thank you for your feedback. We are committed to providing great earnings opportunities for our tutors as well as a supportive environment for them to thrive. There are a lot of false statements in this review and some partial truths too. I'd like to go through some of them 1 by 1 to set the record straight. StudyGate is not a one-man show site. Although I, Jacob, spend the majority of the time managing the site, there are other developers and administrators on the team. My main job is to recruit and enforce the refund policy, it's a very simple document: https://www.studygate.com/refund-policy. It's really important to be aware of the document if you choose to work on StudyGate. Next comment: the management will always side with the client when a dispute is raised. This is untrue. StudyGate guarantees payment for work delivered on-time, accurately, and completely. If students abuse the system, StudyGate will make it right for the tutor. Next comment: the management can close your account anytime, forfeit your earnings no matter the amount. We prefer to avoid this outcome if at all possible. The more common outcome is a delayed payout of 30-45 days after the account is closed. For more information: https://www.studygate.com/tutor-help-center/knowledgebase/warnings-and-suspensions/ Next comment: the number of cancellations and refunds are limited to 3. This is untrue, I'm not sure where you got this number, but we do offer multiple chances to talented tutors. Please keep in mind that refunds and cancellations don't just damage the tutor reputation, but the platform reputation. We're in the business of keeping customers happy. Next comment: you only get one subject per account. This is false: https://www.studygate.com/tutor-help-center/faq/tutor-faq/subject-approval/ If you are qualified we will issue additional subjects. As a tutor, it's your job to manage questions you are competent to assist with. With this strategy, there's very little work to worry about. We also have a dedicated tutor help center with lots of information for succeeding in this work: https://www.studygate.com/tutor-help-center/ Overall, please keep in mind that StudyGate answers to clients just like the tutors do. If tutors meet the standards set on the site, the experience will be profitable and lengthy. If tutors do not read the help center content and engage in work that does not reflect their area of expertise, I'd advise looking elsewhere for work. If you have further comments you would like to share or have a pending payment on a closed account that needs to be issued, I can be reached at jacobh@studygate.com to give you a timeframe for processing that. Thank you again for your feedback. We wish you well in your future work endeavors.

Hey there, thanks for this feedback. I started a simple YouTube channel where I walk around the city and share how about how to best use this platform. I also made a blog and a tutor help center. My goal is quick success for competent tutors by connecting them with students that need help in the tutor's expertise. Regarding the cons, I really appreciate your pointing that out as I hear it a lot. We set 14 days because some of our students need to crosscheck SG answers before approval. Tutors are free to request a review from students beforehand, and that would close out the question as well. We post help articles for how to navigate that process. Pros

Good motivating emails which are not related to work are sent every now and then.

Cons

1)A nano-tutoring website with hardly 20 students which only thinks about its own profits rather than thinking about the tutor’s hardwork. 2)Delayed payments->The tutor gets the chance to withdraw the payment after 14 days incase the student doesn’t dispute the answer. Once the withdrawal is requested, it takes further 2 weeks to get the money to your paypal. It takes a month to get the payment for 1 answer and that too with a deduction of $20-$30 3)The only company which gives students around 14 days to accept or reject/dispute an answer. The students are basically Chinese students looking for free answers. They post the question, get the answer, dispute the question and eventually get the answer along with a full refund of their payment and the tutor gets nothing for his/her hardwork.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. To address your points, the emails we send are related to the bid process. We treat homework help as a strategy to be refined, so I’m really glad you at least found the content encouraging! We don’t use the term nano-tutoring on our site, but we are a safe space for students who wouldn’t feel comfortable asking questions at their local institution. We want to be a part of each student’s success story. Our take on the 14 days for payment is that tutors are in charge of their accounts. If tutors answer on time, correctly, and establish trust with the student, then the student will approve the answer quickly. Otherwise, our view is that the student has the right to wait. If a student disputes a question, we’d prefer not to mediate at all as it is the tutor who has a reputation to maintain via the platform. But if a student is not treated respectfully and fairly, StudyGate will make it right. Finally, I’m sorry there was a payment delay to your account. I’d be happy to discuss this further offline so that we can resolve any missing or delayed payments. Again, I appreciate your taking the time to critique how we’re doing, we’re busier than ever and eager to improve! –Jacob Hallman
