Predatory, Demoralizing - Editor Studio City Employee Review

Pros

Management is a bit clueless so you can actually carve out your own space so long as you don't mind being taken advantage of or berated at the emotional whims of management.

Cons

Extremely predatory. They hire people under the pretense of being a full-time job, then fire them without warning or ceremony when seasons end (even while gaining other clients). There is absolutely no promotion, bonus, loyalty, or raises offered. Even though I worked there for a long time I was refused even performance interviews or evaluations for raises, because they don't give them. The management foster a strange culture of personality, recrimination, and personal attacks, which is doubly unnerving with the personal events/celebrations. I was yelled at and shamed by the CEO when I put in my notice for putting in my notice. Most petty, they will celebrate people's birthdays, but only those who have been there for a long time and demonstrate the most brown-nosing. The other people you have to suffer with are often great, but they can also be just as difficult to work with as management. Creatively, it is also bankrupt, which often loses them clients, but they just don't seem to even care. Invitations to contribute creatively are just for show, doing so will get you on the bad side of the executives, and the receiving end of harassment, even though they asked for input.

Pros

Remote work, decent pay, and some good staff that are well intentioned.

Cons

Read all the reviews. Don’t work here. They want to make more money by squeezing the labor they have. Benefits are subpar, and I’m being kind in that assessment.
