as a hard working black man i believed that consistently working hard and becoming knowledgeable and efficient in different areas and skills required for the job, that my dedication and drive would be recognized. But just like countless other businesses, this job seemingly wouldn't allow or offer me financial promotion. After constant hard work for 4 years and when a spot had opened, i asked for a promotion from back of house where i earned minimum wage to the front of house where my end of week pay would have been doubled. Without hesitation i was told no and that i didn't meet the requirements, less than a week later i quit.
