No direction, management is abysmal - Attorney Stratton Family Law Employee Review

Pros

-Decent pay but you are required to do ALL the work (No secretaries, court runners, paralegals, etc.)

Cons

Law firm has no direction. It's expanding too fast causing the owner to be unable to manage the day to day and he changes his mind constantly about how the firm is to be run. Current local manager has no experience in the field and so he believes micromanaging is the key. Unfortunately, his idea of micromanaging has nothing to do with the work but rather to ensure that the attorneys are billing for every minute even when billing is unethical or unwarranted. His lack of experience and complete disregard of the needs of the employees has now resulted in high turnover which is a direct result of his failures.

Pros

I have worked for the Bryan Stratton for five years and have never regretted a single moment since I began working here. The owner is one of the nicest and down to earth individuals I have had the pleasure of working for. The pay is good, the benefits are good, and the work life balance is good as well. Management is always understanding should you request leave. There are no minimum billable requirements. However, everyone is expected to act professionally and not abuse this. Overall, I am happy with my decision to work for this firm and and equally happy to continue working here.

Cons

The primary area of law which the firm practices and that the firm currently does not have a legal secretary is not ideal. However, this is vastly outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive work environment. It is honestly the best place I have ever worked.

Pros

The only pro is you do everything so you get a lot of experience.

Cons

Management is very unethical. Owner does not care. You will be asked to do less than ethical things. It's so bad the judges know what to expect from this firm. Don't hurt your career and reputation to work here.
