Pros
Stratigent offers a lot of the usual perks in the industry. They'll provide you with a laptop, pay for a phone plan, and offer vision + dental + health insurance (albeit not the best plans). They do allow for remote employees and usually try to bring in all of the remotes to the Chicago office once or twice a year. The transparency with how the business is doing and openness of the CEO during company meetings is a refreshing change.
Cons
Be ready for turnover, and lots of it. Between hiring people that cannot perform the job to running out those that can, I'm surprised anyone is left. Upper management lacks the proper training to be able to fully lead a team. Let's start from the bottom… if you're promised opportunities of management they are talking about team leads. Team leads have 0 authority over the others and should not be confused with the project managers (which pretty much anyone can be a project manager). These team leads sole purpose is to report the feedback from the rest of the team to the uppers. I'm pretty sure the feedback gets tossed out after that, and as you work your way up the chain its more about who has been there the longest rather than who is actually qualified for the job. Expect to work long hours as you must hit a weekly goal of hours that are billable to clients. Worked 15 hours on something internal? Doesn't matter if you hit 40+ total hours, you're still expected to have the 35 hours of billable time. Additionally since they are so quick to hire people to fill desks, expect to fix a lot of mistakes made by others and put out lots of fires. I lost count how many times I had to work on the weekends due to this. Finally, the CEO… he might seem nice and playful, but he definitely plays the favorites game. The only thing I think he did right is be honest and open in company meetings – saying what's on his mind. But his leadership skills and overall professional level is severely lacking for someone in his position.
