Pros

Yearly company retreat Good compensation Mostly good people here

Cons

First I was sexually harassed at this company by my training manager while on the company retreat. He was fired. Then he wasn’t replaced and my training became a very low priority. I was put down and spoke to in a demeaning, belittling manner because I was unable to meet expectations due to their lack of training. The owner of the company used scare tactics to push my productivity and then fired me via message. I didn’t even get the respect and decency of a phone call. And I know my male team lead wouldn’t have spoke to another male in the way he did to me. This was a very toxic company to work for, and they truly let me down. They pinch pennies at this company - hence why they didn’t replace the training manager, which had the most profound affect on my training and development. Beware.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate it! We acknowledge that there were challenges during your time here, particularly with the transition in the manager role. While we opted to immediately promote from within, we understand that this decision impacted the training experience. It's clear that our communication regarding training expectations fell short, and for that, we apologize. We generally hire more experienced writers, and underestimated the amount of training that would be required. We genuinely regret if our approach to discussing productivity seemed intimidating or condescending. Our aim was solely to set transparent goals, and we regret any misunderstanding that may have caused. Regarding the method of communication for your departure, we understand how important it is to handle such matters with sensitivity and respect. In this context, there was a call a few days prior, and it seemed like your absence for consecutive days afterwards indicated a decision had been made. We apologize if the approach taken did not align with your expectations. Your feedback helps us improve, and we are committed to learning from this experience. If you'd like to talk more about your time with us, please feel free to reach out.

Pros

Working with this remote team has been great. Everyone is responsive and supportive and very hands-off. There's a trust that makes it easier to focus on work rather than politics. In fact, there's zero politics here whatsoever. That alone is refreshing! Other wonderful things: management listens, the company believes in data, everybody does their job. Great team to grow along with.

Cons

There's a never-ending amount of work, but that's the nature of this industry.

Pros

The job was remote, which is a plus.

Cons

Content at the time I worked there was managed by one of the owners, who was also in charge of coding. She spent a majority of her time with that team and only checked in ocassionally with content (which was only me and a guy who made videos). This meant a) she was used to doing all the content work and very particular about how it was done even though her SOP notes were a disaster, and b) she only came in to review many articles in batches, which meant if you weren't aware of how something should be done a certain way, it was done wrong in all of them and she sounded pretty upset by the 5th one, even though she wasn't there to tell you otherwise before you did five. The calendar of tasks was very full. There was very little gratitude when things were done right. Very little communication. And since you're the only one on the team but in the group chat with all the others, it felt pretty lonely. There was no one to ask questions except the owner who was busy, and no camaraderie or friends to make at work. Ended up being lonely, demanding, and felt like you're always doing everything wrong and nothing write. Disheartening. Ended up getting divorced through this time and then in a car accident and decided to quit because of how bad the job made me feel.

Thanks for sharing your feedback and experience while working with us. We really appreciate understanding where we fell short. I would like to point out that our company and teams have evolved a lot since you worked with us. We now have a content and growth team of several individuals collaborating together and a new head of growth who is 100% focused on that and the efforts of the content team. While we can't change the past, we are really happy to be able to read your feedback and feel confident your main complaints have been resolved. We are sorry we weren't more available or present as managers, especially considering the external difficulties you were going through as well. We wish you the very best in life, and thanks again for the rating!
