Pros

The people (not management) are great to work with and were the only reason I stayed as long as I did.

Cons

Where do I begin? The owners and upper management like to hide behind being a "faith based company" with "family values" but that could not be farther from the truth. Up until a year ago, the company didn't even have maternity leave. Now, you can just take short term disability at 50% pay. Tell me how that supports families and mothers? Late last year they also changed their 401k program to decrease the company match and in turn contribute less to their employees. Our coworkers wanted to celebrate Pride month last June, but that didn't align with the owners "Christian values" and we were ordered to take down anything online that associated Pride with Storr. My manager even made transphobic jokes to me in the past making fun of a trans customer. If you are a company that values diversity and inclusion, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. Support teams are spread very thin and only make about 30-40k/year when they're worth far more. Turnover is high and you'll be expected to do the role of 2-3 people when others get burnt out and quit. Sales people are expected to live on 35k base salary and wait for 1-2 years for their commission to finally be paid after winning a deal. They promise you 100k salaries in the interview knowing that it's nearly impossible unless they cherry pick the best accounts for you. Only after you sign a non-compete and start in your role will you realize that what they told you during the interview process isn't true. But then it's too late. You will be waiting 2+ years for your commission to be paid on work you've already done. The culture is toxic. Management will ask you to submit "anonymous" feedback and then punish you for speaking up. HR is even worse- the head of HR is simply put in place to protect the owner's interests.

We by no means are perfect and we have many things we continue to work on to improve but we have also have many positive things which we have accomplished. Here are a few of our successes: 1. We survey our Team Members each year and this past year about 88 % responded with an average satisfaction score of 8.6 out of 10. 2. Our turnover is below our industry average. 3. Our benefit package is above average for our industry. 4. Storr promotes a holistic life view to support our Team Members and has been awarded the TBJ’s Healthiest Employer award over 5 times 5. Our customer net promoter score in 2021 was 78%--that is right up there with Nordstrom's, Starbucks and Zappos. Our people are dedicated to providing great service to our customer. 6. We hire and promote people from all religions and those with no religion; from all races and lifestyle choices. We look to hire the best people. 7. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. 8. In May we are taking all of our Team Members and their significant other to the Biltmore Estate for the weekend to thank them for their hard work during the pandemic. 9. Our sales compensation plans are performance based . In 2021, 11 of our salespeople in the Triangle performed well and earned six figures in compensation. 10. Our living wage minimum for Team Members starts at $16 per hour. 11. Each year our company give thousands of dollars to Team Members who are dealing with difficult circumstances through its “We Care” Team. 12. The company donates 10% of its profits each year to the community. We know our Team Members have different beliefs and perspectives so we don’t use the company name in social media to promote political candidates or social issues. This applies to all Team Members including the owners.

The team at Storr are some of the most genuine, caring people I've ever met.

Cons

Complex company structure can be difficult to understand, especially if you're not engaged in your work, or you don't care about your job.

Pros

They do an excellent job of recruiting talented, dedicated individuals, which makes for an enjoyable work environment on a peer level. I genuinely appreciated my coworkers—they were supportive, hardworking, and collaborative, and they played a big role in making the day-to-day experience more positive despite other challenges.

Cons

Employees are consistently overworked and underpaid, with micromanagement so strict that some are unable to participate in company events due to time constraints. There is virtually no work-life balance, and most staff feel both overburdened and undervalued. Additionally, when employees leave, the company often looks for reasons to withhold accrued PTO and treats departing staff poorly. They do not strive to follow their own core value of "Do What’s Right, Do Your Best, Treat Others As You Would Like to Be Treated."
