Pros

I have recently joined StorageOS, just three weeks in to my journey and i am very pleased that i decided to join the team and feel part of the StorageOS family already. There is a great culture here and the onboarding has not only set me up with everything that i need to succeed in my role but has also given me the opportunity to meet some of the great people that we have working here. I personally feel it is a very exciting time to join the company and i am very excited for my future here!

Cons

Not being able to meet my colleagues in person due to COVID19.

Pros

Flexible time working when there's no incidents going on, otherwise you have to work until late and sometimes over weekends until the issues are resolved and with the promise you'll have the day off another day of your choosing. However when you do request your time off, it never gets approved or even refused until you are one day before your holiday is supposedly to start, to be told oh you can't have the time off (which is highly illegal, employers need to give n+1 notice to refuse holiday. n is the number of days you request as a time off).

Cons

- There were no salary bands, so one person in the team could be getting 25-30k per year less than someone else, that's on the same level. As, apparently the hierarchy in this company was flat and you all got the same responsibilities unless you are a tech lead or in upper management, then obviously those have more responsibilities. - Long hours of work, especially when they are major incidents. - No real opportunity for improvement and skill developments as sometimes you could just get stuck doing support for lond running incidents.

Pros

- Exposure to interesting technology - Evolving processes, effort to continuously improve - Experienced team members - Good benefits

Cons

- Too much time spent on support of a flawed product without adequate preparation - More of a support role than an engineering role - High pressure work environment, intense, unnecessarily frequent and somewhat intrusive 1-1s - No obvious path for progression in the company
