I guess some people would say, "it's a job, at least."

This place is a mess. It's amazing they can even remain in operation. They are totally disorganized and they have no understanding of how to run a school. The owner and her daughters are very unprofessional and completely ignorant of Education Code and Employment Law and any other procedure and policy to do with schooling. They only hire the most inexperienced and underqualified teachers to handle students with serious emotional and behavioral problems and disabilities. The salary is NOT COMPETITIVE and there is no room for advancement (unless you're one of their family members). There are not enough support staff and there are no safety procedures in place. None. They are incapable of planning and organizing anything. There is no curriculum (you get a textbook and you're on your own), no professional development, no new teacher support. And since no one can coordinate activities, no one ever knows what's going on. Naturally, there is a very high turnover with staff, which is always a bad sign with any organization, and low enrollment. If you are a parent of a special needs student, seriously consider another institution. And if you are an aspiring teacher, you're seriously better off remaining a substitute teacher until you can get in full time with a district. This place is a joke. Except it's not funny when it negatively affects children and people trying to gain experience and develop professionally.

They pay based on what they want to regardless of experience or education!
