Pros

The only thing I can say is a pro are the great peers I work with. I'm talking about other FSRs, not management or sales.

Cons

Pay is pathetic, training is lacking, Not appreciated, worked to the death, put in no win situations, set up to fail

Pros

It's nice to be on your own in the field with some strong resources in you tool belt. The machines are fairly easy to troubleshoot once you understand how they work.

Cons

The schedule is long hours, always away from home, and dealing with poor logistics in terms of the travel. I'll 5 hours from home and then be asked to go another 5 hours out of the way before I maybe make it home late on Friday night. Other than that, there's little room for growth into management or beyond. And the management is a good ol boys club where they pick and choose which jobs go to who based on rank, not merit. Usually the techs with bad work ethic are over glorified because they make the company more service money. The reimbursement program is decent but it takes a lot of money to be on the road. And the auto program sucks...I lose more money in maintenance costs than anything else.
