Pros
STR does some really great work in the field of addictions services. Healthcare is a tricky business and working with insurances proves ever more difficult but STR does what it can to put client care first --which is great. STR is a relaxed work environment and staff has a lot of fun together --which helps when we spend 40 hours a week somewhere. Pay is decent and benefits are available and decent. It is a small company with plans for growth. It has a strong family feel. There is free parking onsite for staff and it's in a good location--easy to get to and lots of lunch options around.
Cons
There is little room for growth within the clinical team at this time. Our clients can be difficult and demanding which is stressful at times. Leadership continues to work on improving communications company wide which is a struggle. The company has improved a lot this last year with putting organization and policies in place to help provide structure and guidance around the nature of our work and individual jobs. There is no matching 401k and no long term disability benefits available at this time. It's a great starting job for experience but a lot of talented staff move on after a few years for better pay and benefits.
