Pros

Good benefits, okay pay, trauma-bonding with staff, decent refreshments

Cons

Lost 15 lbs. and years of my life at this job. It felt like a bad sitcom. This job consisted solely of mundane unnecessary tasks with outdated systems, meetings about meetings, and daily negativity from leadership who are incapable of doing any of the jobs they were so hasty to berate others for doing poorly. Did not know who my boss was and was incessantly berated for not completing tasks that were neither in my job description nor ever asked of me before I was reprimanded. Thank goodness for the one financial savant who knows what they’re doing. Hope you pay them well.

Pros

Nice remodeled office but if you leave any mess they will show google pictures of what a clean office looks like during staff meetings.

Cons

-10 days for vacation and 15 when you hit 5 years.. -Leadership will never believe you when you need to take a sick day. They require employees to call in when sick so that they can hear if you actually sound sick. -Maternity leave is 6 weeks no matter what and no paternity leave. -Director of financial planning will listen for gossip to report to management and will also report when you come in or leave the office. You will get in trouble if you are even 10 minutes late or leave two minutes early. -Management goes through cycles of treating their employees well when turnover is high and then treats them horribly when not. -They communicate to the employees only when it paints them in a better light. The business as a whole is organized poorly. They only prioritize relationships with their clients and don’t care to know the employees. Lastly, they will blame their issues on prior employee taking zero accountability.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We take feedback seriously, even when we may not fully agree with how it is characterized. At Stepp & Rothwell, we operate in a professional services environment where consistency, accountability, and responsiveness to clients are essential. This includes clear expectations around communication, attendance, and preparation. We recognize that our standards and structure are not the right fit for everyone, and we are intentional about building a team of individuals who value ownership, reliability, and a high level of professionalism in how we serve clients and support one another. We are continually working to improve as an organization and we appreciate all feedback that helps us to do that.
