Pros
Unlimited coffee, foosball and after-office games.
Cons
Former bosses/seniors acting like they're combinations of Donald Trump, Dana White, Mark Z and Kevin O Leary
Pros
• Diversity and Inclusion: The company genuinely prioritizes diversity and inclusion, creating a space where varied backgrounds are represented and valued. • Competitive Compensation: Employees who align closely with management expectations may find the pay competitive.
Cons
• Deceptive Management: Leadership is two-faced and deceitful, often presenting a façade of professionalism while lacking fundamental knowledge in marketing and creative disciplines. Their inability to understand or implement effective marketing strategies is glaringly apparent. • Abysmal Quality of Work: The work produced is subpar and fails to meet industry standards. Projects are consistently delayed, exemplified by their own website taking over three years to develop, which is unacceptable for a marketing firm. • Stifling Work Environment: The management imposes a rigid, by-the-book approach that crushes creativity and innovation. Trust is nonexistent, as employees are micromanaged and their input is neither valued nor respected. • Communication Breakdown: Communication within the company is catastrophically poor. Promises of support and resources are routinely broken, leaving employees feeling frustrated and abandoned. During meetings, it may appear that your voice is being heard, but shortly after, it’s as if your input never existed. This superficial engagement leads to a pervasive sense of being undervalued and ignored, undermining any genuine attempts at collaboration or improvement. The lack of effective communication channels fosters misunderstandings and inefficiencies, further contributing to the toxic work environment. • High Turnover and Rage Quits: The oppressive and mentally draining work environment leads to extreme employee burnout and even rage quits. The pervasive culture of gaslighting and dishonesty cultivates a hostile atmosphere filled with distrust and fear, making it nearly impossible for employees to stay or thrive. This relentless turnover disrupts team cohesion and continuity, further exacerbating the toxic workplace conditions. • False Advertising and Misrepresentation: The company’s claims about their success and capabilities are misleading. Internal performance suggests financial instability and ineffective business practices, contradicting their outwardly optimistic portrayal. • Exploitation of Employees: Employees are overworked and underpaid, with demands for excessive hours without fair compensation. This exploitation leads to severe burnout and a loss of passion for their roles. • Unethical Practices: Management manipulates relationships by posing as supportive friends, only to exploit employees once they are promoted. Promotion documents are deceptively crafted to include hidden intellectual property (IP) clauses that claim ownership of all employee creations, including projects developed at home without any use of company resources or equipment. This tactic ensures the company holds rights to personal work, stripping employees of their rightful ownership and demonstrating a blatant disregard for ethical standards.
Pros
The actual employees who do the creative work, the sales team, the MAs, and the former VP are extremely talented and wonderful to work with. Some of the best co-workers I've ever had. We played squash a lot which was pretty fun.
Cons
Upper Management suffers from toxic masculinity, is overbearing, and controlling. A lot of the employees are on the verge of quitting or have quit since I left. Upper Management enforces a strict no work from home policy for employees within Saskatoon, while they themselves occasionally work from home. There are also some remote workers from other cities, making this policy pretty ridiculous. I was accused of "creating a mutiny" for simply asking 3 other employees if they felt they were more productive when we were working at home during the pandemic. Which I then relayed to management to offer advice on how we can improve efficiency. I was once lectured by upper management about how covid and the vaccine is a conspiracy theory, while negotiating to work from home due to living with someone immunocompromised (who was also a remote employee at the time) during the height of the pandemic. Upper management purposefully stood me up for meetings to discuss this. Later they told me they stood me up to "keep me on my toes" and keep me at the office. During the height of the pandemic upper management had the immunocompromised remote employee come into the office to fire them while not wearing a mask during a mask mandate, they said they shouldn't be concerned because of the building's air filtration, while breathing in their face. Upper management was also misogynistic at times, saying mockingly to women team members that they had "strong personalities" while discussing concerns in a meeting. They are a marketing company so they are trying very hard to make themselves look good, but I would strongly encourage you to find employment elsewhere.
