Pros

The hiring process is well-structured, with interviewers being helpful, communicative, and focused on assessing real skills rather than just theoretical knowledge. Though a bit lengthy.

Cons

High independence can be challenging, but IFT has a strong process and structure for fully remote work

Pleased to hear you had a positive interview experience- I wonder how many rounds you completed? We aim for 3-5 stage processes across our teams. This is optimal for assessing our candidates fairly and effectively. It also gives you a good chance to familiarise yourself with the team, organisation/culture to see if it will be a good fit for you.

Pros

Interview process - You get a very good idea of the kind of work you'll be doing - Interviews focus on the job responsibilities and problem solving specific to the role Company: - Exciting work. Interesting problems - Actually believes in its principles and puts them into practice - Not trying to own the world economy like some sort of super villain - Seems to do a good job at organizing the chaos of remote async-first working across timezones, cultures, etc. Understands that there are tradeoffs in balancing structure and flexibility

Cons

Interview: - Took a significant amount of time and effort for the take-home assignment - Tech curve for understanding and getting to the problem is significant Company: - Typical remote async work cons I suppose: can be overwhelming and seem chaotic, looser structure in terms of process, fast-paced and ever-changing, can be daunting because of the unknowns that come with the tech space, etc - The organizational structure is hard to follow and has changed a lot recently. Status, IFT (Institute of Free Technology), Logos, Nomos, etc.
